ANNOUNCEMENT

TAD 10 Road Race 2025

The date of the 2025 race will be Sunday 23rd November

The arrangements will be exactly as utilised, over the past few years.

The race is, indeed can only, be held under the Powers of a Temporary Traffic Restriction Order (TTRO)
Our traffic management Company has already submitted a formal application to North Yorkshire Council Highways, for such an Order.

It is unlawful to contravene road closures, lawfully placed under a TTRO.

However, residents of Wighill are not prohibited from movement, within the village. This is because the village has a 30mph speed limit.
We actually and specifically accommodate parking for the morning Church Service.
Any resident, needing to drive out of the village, can do so (when safe), by driving in the same direction as the runners, along Church Lane
and then turning right, on to Wighill Lane (towards Boston Spa).
The Operative, at the Wighill Lane junction, will rightly stop traffic from turning left in to the village, when the volume of runners is high, as to
allow traffic against the flow of runners would be simply unsafe.

As we operate a 'rolling road closure' the impact on Wighill village is for a maximum of 2 hours.

The event is still some 11-weeks away. It would be hoped that this gives residents plenty of time to make a mark in their diaries and plan, if they need access, deliveries or visitors
